This link is to a page on www.buynothingchristmas.org, a site organised by a religious group aiming to de-commercialise Christmas. On this page is a list of suggestions of more creative ways of giving Christmas gifts. It’s a bit late for me this year (hangs head in shame at the thought of how much money’s been spent at the various tat markets in the area this last couple of weeks), but next year we may do something similar ourselves.
I have a friend who one year made jars and gift baskets for her friends and relatives (she may still do – Jemp, if you’re reading this, leave a comment) and it sounded quite appealing. This link has inspired me to think more creatively about gift giving in general. Any ideas? Leave us a comment.
