My relatively new Casio EXILIM EX-Z750 broke on friday. I was happily taking pictures with it when it stopped focussing. I tried to switch it off, and the lens wouldn’t retract. From then on, it wouldn’t power on at all – the display wouldn’t come on, and all it did was make a quiet grinding noise from the lens mechanism. Not quite the classic ‘Lens Error’ these cameras seem to do so much, but not far off.
On Saturday morning, we returned it to John Lewis, where it was bought, and it’s been sent away for repair. They estimate two to three weeks.
Maybe I can cut a hole in an index card, and call it the HipsterCamera? Probably not.
Anyway, I knew when I bought this camera that there were reliability problems with them, but I decided to take a risk, so I can’t really complain too much now. Just a little. 🙁
