Another good find from WomanoftheWorld – we really should put her on the payroll:
“Six-String Masterpieces The Dimebag Darrell Art Tribute”, at Ozzfest 2006 on Randall’s Island in New York City. The exhibit, produced and curated by Curse Mackey, is a collection of over 40 Dean ML guitars that have been hand-painted, illustrated, and sculpted by top musicians and artists including Zakk Wylde, James Hetfield, Kerry King, Ted Nugent, and Joe Satriani.
See pictures from the exhibit on the Talking Metal Podcast page.

Another online shop for vintage pens – MK Pens – similar to my old favourite drooling ground, Andy’s. Also do repairs for pretty reasonable prices.

Probably the best place for replacement sacs and tools, if I decide to have a go at fixing any old pens I get myself – The Highlo Pen Museum.

in a blog. Looking around I see that everything is so blank. I really need to write something – but like I was saying somewhere else around here – I need a schedule! Everything I write ends up in the wrong place. But then Sam moves it and explains it all again. Soon she will probably have to move this one too. Poor Sam! But at least I am helping her work on patience – a virtue! And by the time I get the hang of this she will be an extremely virtuous woman.
I have read a few blogs. Some of them are really good, some are plain weird, some are very high-brow, and some are well…ummm…shall we say not so high brow! I wonder what mine will be like? It’s like writing a diary that everyone reads. That is kind of scary when you think about it, especially if you knew the kind of things that were in my diary, the old book and pen kind.
I don’t read blogs really. I find them odd…not the people who write them, but you know, the whole process. It baffles me that people who don’t know me want to read anything I have to say or that I am going to write to people who don’t know me. Oh well…maybe it will be just me and my blog alone in cyberspace. Me and my blog can become buddies like me and my diary. I wrote in my book diaries every day for years. Hmmm…we’ll see how it all works out with my new “Dear Blog…”
Sorry Dear Diary…I still love you!

The old question: To Ink or Not To Ink? Is it better to keep that pen in uninked condition, or to ink it up and write with it? On Richard’s site, David Isaacson makes a good argument that if you have a perfect uninked example, and you want to ink it, you should trade it with someone who has one that’s already been inked, and wants one that hasn’t. And a pile of cash.

Another excellent page from Richard Binder, on the workings of the Sheaffer Snorkel. The animation is just wonderful, even if you do have to watch it ten times or so before you can start to follow it. Really lets you appreciate the mechanism in these pens. If that one I bought does turn out to be a snorkel, and it doesn’t work, I have pretty much no chance whatsoever of being able to fix it.

Another one to bookmark – PenHero’s Sheaffer Snorkel page. The Buckskin Tan coloured one looks rude.

I’m talking about the one and only Robert Plant. Robert is celebrating his 58th today, and from the bottom of my heart I wish him a good one. He has made so many fans happy over the years with all his music, and not just when he was in Zeppelin – his solo stuff is out of this world too! And besides that, he is a super guy in every other way too – great personality, witty, charming…I saw him in Cork in July and let me say he is GORGEOUS! You still have it Robert!
So, join me and raise a glass to him today – thanks for the music Robert – have a very special day!
And what I just said about the bottom of my heart? Scratch that, because, for Robert Plant, my heart has no bottom!
Happy Birthday to HRH from all of us at Guitar Pr0n.
