I just got mine off of eBay (March 2012)--Even with a seriously cracked cap and some apparent aesthetic age--This pen sold for just over $100.00 USD (with over 20 bids in purchase interest, globally applied).

I'm a little worried au courant that when the pen dries a bit that it may be cranky to get started again--Maybe this is the reason that Lamyphiles never actually put it down to rest?

I really like the way it notably finesses script writing or related. The fluidity really comes across and rather transforms the over all writing effect--Very artsy outcome, indeed.

(I want to break out my vintage linen stock and paired-down wax seals as to accompany it in the over all sense of occasion).

**If any long duration Lamy fountain pen owners have any prime maintenance amendments or related advisement, I'd love to hear further what has worked best for you as to give this pen it's due re true care and well-tended upkeep attention.

Cheers.

I use one as my daily writer and over the long term have enjoyed the feel and quality more thzan the KOH-N-NOOR 5911 that I used prior to the 780c. The KOH-N-NOOR is plainer looking, plastic barrell with not serratedc grip or other. The pocket clip is all but impossible to keep on it. It has 90 degree edges that cut into the hand, looks as cheap as can be. I used the KOH-N-NOORs for some years and after pulling the clips they are decent for desk use while the 780c is more universal.

I currently 3 1 in use and 2 nib backups to assure I'll have a supply for some years to come but doubt I'll use the backups unless as a result of loss.

May I suggest you make this part more prominent on your
web page: maybe put these words in bold, or repeat them at the top, or put a heading "Here's how to do it" immediately above them:

"if your project was ‘Conquer Albania’, and the first action was ‘Place Army Wanted Ad’, the item on your tasks list would be Place Army Wanted Ad {Conquer Albania}. Your project and its associated next action are there together on the one line.... Once you’ve placed the ad, you just edit the item to Responses to Ad {Conquer Albania}, and move it to your @Waiting For list."

I had read your page before, and was skimming it before
giving someone a link to it, and had a hard time finding
what I considered to be the essential gist of your method
(i.e. the part above) which on your page is hidden in the last part of the last paragraph of a section.

Just a suggestion.

Hi, I am also a nana, in my early sixties, and I entered a competition in late '50's to complete the slogan.. a mars a day...... so, YES, I completed it by adding ...helps you work, rest and play and sent it off with relevant enclosures as requested. If memory serves me clearly, the competition was in the Bunty or Judy of that era, prob 1958/9. My family are browned off listening to me over the years telling this story, and claiming ownership, hense my browsing and finding your story. They just laugh at my 'ramblings' but IT IS TRUE.... STRANGE, WOULD LOVE TO COME TO THE BOTTOM OF IT. MARS SHOULD BE ABLE TO THROW SOME LIGHT ON IT, THEY'RE SUCH A BIG COMPANY. Come on Mars, try harder !!!!!!! p.s. DANIELLE, can you confirm if your nan is referring to late 1950's when she did the competition ?
Thanks

Kerry indeed goes back to 1971. It isn't retro, it's still current. Good design doesn't go out.

The only changes have been in markings -- the original only said "PENTEL 5" and "JAPAN"

I had a grey one in 1982, a blue one in 1993 (still have and use that particular one) and 2 more, another blue and a black. All in .5.

These are hand-made, you know. Well, at least assembled by hand. They last forever, too -- the one from 1993 saw daily service from '93 to '99, and still sees use today. Never a problem.
