NORTHERN IMAGES

PHOTOGRAPHY

This page was intended to become access a wide range of images. Apart from those mentioned below, I now put most of my photograps on my Flickr pages where you will find more than 2300 images.

ALSO - see the Natural World for photographs of bee-eaters and waxwings, the Astronomy section for a photograph of a sun pillar and two beautiful views of the rare alignment of the planets which occured in April and May 2002 and the Holidays section for photographs (mainly of wildlife) in South Africa.

I have been interested in photograhy for almost as long as I can remember. I had to wait for my first camera until my (late) brother, John, brought one back from his time in the Military Police. It was a humble box camera but it was my pride and joy - when I could afford the film and processing!.

When I was 16 or 17 I bought my first 35mm camera, and then a few years later I changed to a single lens reflex.

All my photography is now digital and I currently have a compact, a single-lens reflex (SLR) and a super-zoom for occasions when the SLR isn't appropriate. The compact is waterproof to 3 metres and I use it for videos when snorkelling.
