There’s a few new bits of guitar tech around – all covered by createdigitalmusic.
- Guitars with optical pickups, supposedly giving better range and responses than ‘normal’ ones, a guitar designed to be played with a bow, effects you control with a clip-on finger-controller, and a bodlyless guitar.
- RiffWorks, with real-time collaboration over the Internet, and a digital Les Paul. When you’re done collaborating, you can publish the session on a blog or personal web page to share it with the world. Sounds pretty cool.
- 1/4″ Jack to USB cable – does all the conversion in a lump in the cable, so the you can just plug your guitar into a USB socked and play away. Includes a version of AmpliTube so you can model tube amps with your computer, with no need for any special hardware.
Some cute stuff going on.
