Tiverton Food Festival

Last weekend was the Tiverton Food Festival, or Mid Devon Food Festival, in the Pannier Market in Tiverton. We live in Tiverton, and we eat food, so it seemed like a handy combination.

We weren’t expecting much from it, but we were quite pleasantly surprised. We started with some very good Thai food – Phad Thai and Phad Mee for breakfast. After a sit down with some coffee, we had a good sniff of the Sri Lankan curry stall, which looked and smelled fantastic, but we had very limited stomach space by this point. We bought some bhajis and rotis to have later, then went for our pick of the outside cooking. Sam went for ‘Duck Dogs’ – a duck sausage sandwich, and I got an Aberdeen Angus beef burger. We swapped around as usual, and both were delicious.

According to one of my colleagues, the Thai food stall is there quite often, so we may have more chances at their cooking.

There were quite a few other stalls, including some selling produce rather than prepared food, but then Tiverton’s market is pretty good in that respect at any time.
