Photography on the Cheap
If you’re after getting professional-looking results from your photography, but you don’t want to spend professional-looking money, Jesse at ifakedit has some excellent tips for you.
Personally, I think he underestimates what you can get out of a decent modern point-and-shot digital like my Ixus 750, but he’s spot on about megapixels being overrated. I use The GIMP for all my editing, and it certainly beats any of the budget editors. Lighting is something I’ve never really played with, partly because it’s usually so expensive, so I’m fascinated by his suggestion of using worklights. I’ll have a look next time we’re in any sort of DIY shop and see what sort of prices these go for over here.
