nowMap: Full A4 Templates

Latest Update: Adding simple HTML links to the files, to get around a few problems we’re having with the site.

This is a template for nowMaps – quick visual overviews of what’s on your mind. To find out what a nowMap is, and how to use the main section of this form, see the nowMap Introduction, which also lists other nowMap templates available.

This Form

Pics missing – sorry.

(This is just a pic to let you see what the form looks like – keep scrolling for the PDF file if you want to print one out to use it. If you’re really stuck, and can’t use the PDF, click the picture, then click on “view original”, then right click the picture and save it – it’ll look pretty poor printed, but it should work ok.)

This is probably the one most of you will want – a full A4 sized nowMap, with no trimmings.

There are two versions – one where the main nowMap area is plain, and one where it’s squared. Pick whichever you prefer – plain for the free-form free spirit in you, squared to let your inner geek shine.

The PDF Download

Should be below, along with the OpenOffice Draw (.odg) files. The OpenOffice Draw files are good if you want to edit the file. The PDF is good if you just want to print it, or you don’t have OpenOffice.

Thanks, Charlie – they are similar. I promise I’d not seen them before :)

They’re a bit too big to keep handy unless you have a fair bit of desk space, but on the other hand, you get a lot more space for planning.

I’ll probably stick a note on the main nowMap page, actually, pointing to these, for people who just want to buy something rather than printing them themselves.

I’m probably being a thicky, but where have all the PDFs gone?

  3. pigpogm says:

Sorry, Dave, definitely not you being a thicky, they’d gone in the process of upgrading Drupal. Should be back any moment now. Sorry about that. I’d better go find out what else has gone missing. Thanks for letting us know about it.

    Hi Robyn,

I’ve just tried downloading it here, and it seems to be working fine. If you still can’t get it, drop me a mail at michael@pigpog.com, and I’ll send you a copy.

    Hi there,

I have been struggling to find a way to make GTD match my strong need for visual big pictures and this looks like it would work for me but I’m getting a message that the PDF cannot be found. Any chance you could email me one so I can give it a try?

    Thanks

    Robyn

Thanks Michael, it downloaded fine when I used the Save button (which I didn’t think to try the other night).

It just doesn’t work with the Open button (still). The file download box opens OK but then I get an Adobe Reader error message which says “There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be found” I’ve realised that I tend to use Open as my default because my visual preference wants me to see the document before I decide to Save!

So this has taught me something about my blind spots if nothing else.

Thanks for your help and providing these templates…it’s much appreciated.

I couldn’t find a PDF of the nowMap document, so I ended up replicating one in Excel. It took all of 5 minutes–super easy!

    1) Open Excel and select Landscape in Page Setup. 2) Size your columns and then set the cell format properties for shading and borders. For the alternating black/gray lines, you can set a grid line with one color, switch colors, set the other line, and then copy/paste the cell block repeatedly until you’ve filled the page length. 3) Go to Print Preview and use the margin guides to maximize the print area. I basically eliminated my header and footer areas to get more nowMap space.

And naturally, you can customize the layout as you see fit. Good luck.
